Marriage Certificates ~ Ketubahs
Remember your special day by framing your certificate or Ketubah as uniquely as your love for each other.

This fabulous Ketubah was designed by Patty Shaivitz Leve.
Another great ketubah artist is Moshe Mikanovsky.
Gift Certificates ~ Parent
& Wedding party gifts
Gift Certificates make the best gifts for those you think have everything. Almost everyone has an item or piece of art that they have yet to frame. Helping them in the process with a gift certificate for framing is a unique and thoughtful gift.
Parent & Wedding party gifts can be the most difficult gift ideas to come up with. That is one reason we included them with gift certificates.

Honeymoon/Vacation Collages
Creating shadowboxes and collages are a few of our specialties we offer here at Frame Nation. Over the years we have done finished pieces of couple's trips all over the world. Trips to Aruba, Alaska, Florida, Europe and cruises...all made for great beginnings and special times our clients want to remember always. We incorporate a variety of mementoes brought back from travels. Foreign currency, maps, objects and of course lots of snapshots artfully placed together make a great piece for a family/game room, hall or guest room.
Here is a super special piece we created for a couple that honeymooned in Spain and saw Bruce Springsteen there too!

Contest Entries
Professional Picture Framers Association Annual Print Competitions
Each year the Professional Picture Framing Association (PPFA) holds "print" competitions. They issue a piece of art, the "print". It can be anything - a canvas, art on paper, or an object. The item must be framed to museum standards and be framed with the best design treatment as well.
Below are entries from previous years.

The 2007 3rd place winner in the PPFA National Capitol Chapter Print Competition. This piece traveled to Las Vegas for the Nationals in January 2008.
Actual wood twigs were used along with two frame profiles from Larson Juhl's Calistoga White wash collection. The mat openings edges were hand deckled to give a "torn" appearance.
We used Tru Vue's Museum glass so as to reduce the glare. You never know where it will hang as it is being judged!

This was the 2005/2006 entry. The subject was an artist's paintbrush. We were to treat it as if it was a brush used by a master artist. Maybe Monet? This won the Judges Award at the chapter level.

So mounting of the brush could do no harm to the brush (no glue or nails), a thick bendable wire was used to hold the brush and the wire was coated with a plasticized rubber to hold the brush in place with a friction mount.
An octagon was created out of mirror and museum glass soldered together like stained glass.
Four different profiles from the Larson Juhl Academie collection were cut at various angles to produce the
frame.

This piece has a nickname - The Starship Enterprize!
Poetry in Framing
This contest began in 2002 and went till 2006. The concept was to create a frame and mat combination that expressed an idea, poem, or entity.
Mary Fender loved this contest because it was so open, as you will see with her entries.
She won 1st place and Popular Choice in 2002 for "Spanish Eyes" a tribute to Picasso's Guernica from 1937.

2003's entry was titled "Creation" after a poem by Philip Appleman about prehistoric cave dwellers and their art on their walls. It won 2nd place that year. The entry from 2005 was a tribute to the Theater called "There's no business like Frame business". It even has 3 curtains!

The last entry from 2006 won 1st place in Las Vegas. It was called "Get your Bling On". This entry was a definite nod to popular culture and our need for a little bling in our lives. In this case maybe a lot! It consists of hundreds of hand applied faux rhinestones, mirror and a tiny jeweled frame on chains.
Stop in the shop to see these in person!
